I love Soft Surroundings

One final holiday window post. Throughout this window, the holidays are emphasized through Christmas trees with the lights and bows, and the big comfy sweaters. The trees in each window add good proportion along with the height of the mannequins and props involved - specifically the chairs. The mood is set perfectly for a Christmas night with makes it one unit. They all flow together well.

Chic-yesssssss

Chico's had executed these windows with style. The bottom one shows proportion with the different heights of the mannequins, blocks, ornaments, and wreath. For the top image, its shown with the same mannequins, blocks and ornaments but instead of the wreath its a sign. Black is emphasized in the top window with the darker sweaters, jeans, shoes, and tops. White is emphasized in the bottom window by the jackets, tops, and scarves. They are both balanced with the amount of mannequin with sweater weather being emphasized.

Here's the Secret....

THE DISPLAYS IN THE STORE MAKEUP FOR THE BORING WINDOWS! Victoria's Secret always uses signage in their windows and no mannequins. Walking past the store though, you see this. You can see it with the gates closed, you can't miss it. I think this "box tree" makes up for the boring windows. It catches your attention and makes you want to see it. Proportion is shown with the height of the boxes. It is balanced with the boxes spread out throughout the table. It is unified through the color of "love", pink & red.

OH Charolette!

As seen in my earlier posts, Apricot Lane & Maurice's had similar displays in their windows to Charolette Rouse. I feel as if this idea may have been taken, considering Maurice's is down the hall. They did a good job of utilizing their space. Proportion is shown with the mannequin on the ground, to the mannequin on the block, next the height of the pole holding the jeans and sweaters, to the tallest point - the sign. Sweaters/Cardigans are emphasized as the weather begins to chill. Rhythm is shown with the pop of coral on the sweater, sign, and jean.

I'll Love This

As mentioned before... I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS AND I DEFINITELY LOVE THIS! American Eagle has always been one of my favorite places to shop because of their product and the way items are merchandised. Every aspect of these windows has great use of the space. Proportion is shown with the height of the mannequins, the shape of the triangle in the two windows, the height of the signage, the mannequins, and the garland at the bottom. Each window is balanced with either a mannequin and the triangle, four mannequins and the big triangle, and two mannequins with signage. The emphasis is to get the consumer ready for winter! Sweaters, hats gloves, you name it.

Black Friday, White Sweaters & Gold Ornaments

White House Black Market. One of my favorite stores that I don't shop at because of the price. This window is so festive and I love it. The gold ad white ornaments along with the tree make the window pop. I know it's hard to see but there are four mannequins which balance the window out nicely. Proportion is showed through the height of the mannequins, the tree, the blocks below the ornaments, and where the signage is placed. Emphasized is white/cream because of the clothing, ornament colors and blocks.

Pottery Barn Gave Me Feels

I've ALWAYS loved Pottery Barn, I want to take their setups and put it in my house. I love these two windows in particular for Pottery Barn Kids because it reminds me of my childhood, the dollhouse in particular. Proportion is shown with the height of the garland, the chandelier and the dollhouse. These items balance out the window with the signage in the top right, so it looks nice a full. The holiday spirit is definitely the emphasis here.

GAP's Sweater Weather

The first thing that caught my window? The RED! Red is my favorite color, and my eyes went from piece to piece in this window. The two mannequins balance out the window with the signage in the middle. The height of the sign added proportion to the mannequins and ground. The red blocks add some contrast with the darker pants to the window to make your eye travel. Sweaters are emphasized because they are on the mannequins and signage. It's time to prepare for this snowy weather!

Bath & Body Brings Joy

Joyful. This word is what caught my attention and then I realized the snowmen below. Snow and the holidays bring me nothing but joy. I love the simplicity and somewhat smallness of this window. The big snowman balances everything around him, the two snowmen on the left and the product dominance on the right. The two snowmen on the left are proportionate with the product on the right. Rhythm is created with the amount of pieces for each product. RED is emphasized with the lettering, the bows, and hats and scarves.

Sweater Weather Approaches

I'm so pleased with the way Maurice's executed their window. It is as white as snow and makes me feel at home. It sets the mood for the upcoming winter season. Balance is shown with the three mannequins and the log post to the right. Proportion is shown with with the different heights of the mannequins, accessories like the logs, and the signage along with the width between each of these. Sweaters are emphasized with being on all three mannequins and in the marketing.

Be NancyBGood

While in East Nashville, we visited a small square of boutiques that included chocolate, antiques, apparel, and more. Nancy B Good is one of those with apparel. I was surprised when I went into the store to see the variety of clothing she had which was target at different age groups. I was not too much impressed with her windows but I did like the placement of the pieces included. Yes, I know you can see Nicole and I in the window... The top window has nice balance with the two mannequins displayed. It takes up a majority of the window with is always a plus. The second window has good proportion with the height of the mannequin and the display table below it. Fall is emphasized with the thick scarf and fur vest.

Drape Me in Draper James

While in Nashville, we were able to stop at Reese Witherspoon's new store, Draper James. I have never walked into a store and wanted to be a part of it in my entire life. I felt so at home and like I NEEDED to be here. I'm so impressed with the way it had turn out. I love every single one of these windows. Balance is shown with the two windows with three mannequins and the two windows with one mannequin. Skirts and dresses are emphasized because they are displayed the most. Rhythm is well kept throughout the store with the windows with mannequins going 1-3-1-3. I quite enjoy that this window with "Pretty as a picture" on the side of her building. Absolute best visit.

Holidaze at Ten Brooke LeAnne

On our way to Nashville, we stopped at an ISU Alum's store in Effingham. I instantly fell in love just by looking at the window when I walked up (My favorite time of the year is the holidays). I enjoy the signing of the window in the left photo, I just would have like to see it above the mannequins head because it is somewhat hard to read. Balance is displayed by the two red curtains in the back and having two mannequins, even though one is covered in presents. It evens out the window nicely. My favorite part of this display is the window on the right, with the mannequins outfit! Rhythm is shown with the placement of the "gift boxes" above and around the mannequin, it creates and nice pattern. Overall, RED is the emphasis in both these windows.

FALL for The LIMITED

Every time I venture into a mall, I make priority to stop by The Limited window display. Over the past few months, I have come to love their displays. The color stories portrayed along with the placement of their mannequins, signage, and miscellaneous pieces creates a perfect window! In the top picture the sweaters are displayed just as the blazers were displayed in a previous post. I love this concept. Rhythm is shown by the same color story and the 3-2-3 of the rows.  I am in absolute LUST with this top photo of the window. It makes me want to go in there and buy these items to help prepare me for fall. Rhythm is created nicely with the different heights of each piece involved, the tree, the FALL SALE sign, the three logs displaying merchandise, the Leaf picture behind the FALL sign to the mannequins in front of it. The mannequins are nicely balanced with the four of them. OBVIOUSLY, the emphasis is fall, and it definitely got me to fall.

Trick-or-Charolette

I cannot deny the fact that Charlotte Rouse is one of my favorite stores, but I can say I am not typically a fan of their window displays. I LOVE THIS WINDOW! The signage, the placement, EVERYTHING! The one thing I would add is another mannequin on the left so there is two higher ones on each side of the shorter mannequin to create better proportion and balance it out little more. The one thing I would change is the dress the mannequin on the left is wearing, it blends with the color the mannequin too much. Nightlife outfits are definitely emphasized!
The photo on the bottom is disappointing to me because of the large scale of signage and small use of mannequins, YES I would have liked more mannequins. I like to see what my options are for the promotion used to get me into the store. It does have even balance with the two signs used on the outside and the two mannequins on the inside. It also has good proportion with the height of the mannequins and words on the signs.

#LoveLoft

Out of all the window's I've seen today, this is by far my favorite. The mannequins with the signage behind it are perfect! Even the placement of the mannequins, two in the middle closer than the two on the outside. Neutral colors YET again are displayed along with sweaters and jackets. The height of the mannequins shows the perfect amount of the model on the signage giving it good proportion. On the other side (the left photo), the blue signage behind the mannequins balances it out, which makes three the perfect amount in this window.

The Warmth of Francesca's

Now this is what I'm talking about! White house Black Market just needs to add some color behind their mannequins like this first picture on the right. I love the dark colors with the bright sunflower color. It really makes the apparel stand out. As we can see in the previous two posts, NEUTRAL COLORS ARE IN!(With that hue of red too). I love the added leaves to the window as well. I would have changed the heigh of every other mannequin to make it more proportionate. I like that they placed mannequins above the racks in the window. It is a nice way to display what is in the rack.

White Style, Black Fashion

White House Black Market always keeps me intrigued. I have always liked their classy and feminine style. Yet again, the neutral colors are yet again emphasized in each of these mannequins with a touch of pink and maroon. I like the "splash" of red hue and white added to the colors. I would have liked to see some signage added with the mannequins to add some more. I feel as if it is too much mannequin and that is it. I like the window with four mannequins more so than the one with five. I know that the clothes are important, but I would like to see it on a person. Anyone can throw some mannequins in clothes in a window. I WANT MORE!

FALL in Style at CHICO's

Yes, I know the quality in these photos is horrible but that's what happens when you take photos in the middle of the day. I need to start by saying I HATE these thick black stripes in the middle of these windows. I would have separated the mannequins so you can see them without any black line down the center. I took two sets of pictures to see the clothes better. I like how each of the four mannequins in the right picture have a different hand poses. It adds variety yet keeps balance with the even number of mannequins. Neutrals are emphasized through both windows with the colors the mannequins are wearing. The window with five mannequins seems a little much to me. I would of have preferred only four with a little separation between. the one mannequin all the way to the right in the left photo looks as if someone checked the size on the merchandise and didn't turn the mannequin back. I like the merchandise chosen.

Fall Shopping!

Let me just say first off that I took horrible pictures and that I wish I would have retaken them... Any who, I LOVE THE CART FULL OF PUMPKINS AND LEAVES! I also like the contrast of the clothing, the two on the left a little more neutral and the red on the right to make the window really pop! I wouldn't have necessarily put white on the white mannequins because you seem to lose sense of what the top looks like. An option to fix this would to move the lighting a little. I love the fall scene to the window! There is nice balance to the window the the two mannequins and the mannequin with the cart. I feel as if the mannequin with the cart is emphasized because it is the last place my eye ends. Well done!

Class it Up

Michael S Fine Clothiers -- for the classy man (or so it looks like). I LOVE the backlight behind the mannequins and the "dream catchers" on the ceiling. The light kind of makes the suits look like they are glowing because of how dark the color is on them. I love that the dream catchers are colored because it draws attention to the pieces on the suits, aka the ties and suspenders. A pop of color will make any neutral colored suit brighter! The placement of the dream catchers adds a nice balance with the uneven number of mannequins.

Black Hole Sun, Won't You Come.

Thanks to the Main Gallery 404's lighting emphasis and placement of these wonderful pieces, I was able to see the display from across the street. I was beyond excited to go up and see what this window contained! I can't help but feel literally "sucked in" to this window. I love the contrast from blue to red and the diagonal direction these paintings are placed. It's almost like a battle of good and evil. It has a repeated rhythm of a circle in each painting which pulls your eye from painting to painting. I also love the fact that this is a gallery, and not just a store. It goes to show that apparel stores aren't the only place thinking about window displays.

Welcome to the Party, the Garden Party

One can find the Garden Party in Downtown Bloomington Normal! Here you can find Yarn Garden's display of lovelies. I love how homey this display feels. The window on the left gives off an "inside the house" feel whereas the window the on the right feels like it could be the yard to that house. The "homey" window gives off a very relaxing environment with the rocking chair and the knitted product. The pieces in the back are strategically placed to be seen from the window. It creates depth. The window that portrays the "garden" has a balance with the items being placed at the same height. The flower pattern is repeated throughout the display with the pictures, flowers on the wall and in the wine bottles. I love the bottles. I also couldn't help but include this bike outside the store :)

You better BUCKLE your eyes....

This store is my weakness.... I do not allow myself to go in there because I know I will want to buy EVERYTHING... and the sales associates? They get me to buy EVERYTHING. The retailer does a good job of getting me to look at their window. I feel like there is a lot going on in this window and I don't know where my eyes should land. The mannequins are well dressed and accessorized. The display of accessories, bags and shoes adds nice balance with the mannequins. It helps your eye move across the window. I would have liked a little bit better lighting so I can see the product better. It is quite dark.
